Muelle 1

These past weeks I had not much new to tell you. I just don't have enough time these days to do much.  So I decided to take my camera when I went for a walk and here are some pictures of "Muelle 1" which is kind of new in Malaga seaport.  It was quite nice because I arrived there when the sun was going down.  I must say  though that the first picture is the Alcazaba of Málaga.

  • "A season of angels" de Debbie Macomber
  • "Vampires are forever" de Lyndsay Sands

The books I have read in January were:

  • "A season of angels" by Debbie Macomber
  • "Vampires are forever" by Lyndsay Sands

This last Christams I wanted to read a Christmas story.  I tried with "The Bridge" in December but I found it quite boring.  Next I tried with Debbie Macomber.  I thought it couldn't go wrong with her.  And I was right.  "A season of Christmas" is the first book in her "angels"series and it is really good for Christmas.  I like it a lot and it was fun to read about the three angels. I have no doubt that I will continue reading this series.

This Christmas my mother passed away and I didn't feel like reading anything too serious or complicate.  I wanted something light, nice and fun.  And what better that one of Lyndsay Sands Argeneau's books.  So I read "Vampires are forever" and I loved it. Just what I was looking for in a book at that moment.  I love these books they are a lot of fun to read, there's romance and even a bit of mistery.  Really good.

SAL Tralala Mode (2ª parte)

Yesterday I finished the second part of SAL Mode Tralala that I was doing for "Club Tralala Love".  In the beginning I didn't like this tralala a lot because there was too much black going on and I wasn't sure about the rest of the colors. I didn't have time to change anything because I was already too late.  In the end I really like a lot the way it has turned out.  I love it.

The last two photos are the threads I have being buying since I started with the SALs last year.  Last photo is from yesterday evening.  I have more threads that I need to add to this box.  I love to see so many different colors.  Now I don't have to buy much threads for some of the SAL because I already have most of them.

I don't have much time today so here it is what I have baked this weekend.  First loaf is sourdough bread and I put some flour I bought in Switzerland in November.  Eventhough the loaf is not very pretty it was and tasted really good.   And some rolls with spelt flour and organic strong white flour.

¿Demasiados proyectos?

Yesterday (Sunday) I took the time to take some pictures of some of the projects I have begun and want to finish.  I think I have too many things going on and not enough time for them but I don't mind.  Some of them I need to finish as soon as possible but most of them I can finish whenever I can, so no problem there, no problem even if it take a year or more to finish them.  Anyway what I know for sure is that I won't get bored anytime soon.

The photos are from some of those projects.  I have more going on.  The one I need to finish as soon as I can is the cross-stitch one as I am already late for this SAL.

On Friday I baked the bread for this last weekend.  Made with sourdough (200 gr), 400 rye flour (both white and whole), 100 gr strong organic white flour, 360 gr of water, 10 gr of salt (two teaspoons) and seeds.  This week loaf is not as pretty as others I have baked before because first of all I left it too many hours before baking it, this would be OK, if I had left the dough in the fridge but I left it on the kitchen counter from seven a.m. until five p.m, and when I was baking it I didn't pay enough attention as I was doing other things at the same time.  I still don't know how the loaf turned out Ok.  It wasn't really nice looking but it was really delicious and we like it a lot.

On Saturday morning I saw in my fridge three bananas that weren't too good to be eaten but were good enough for a cake. So I followed a Donna Hay recipe from her book "Fast, fresh and simple" .  The recipe is called "No-fuss banana caramel pudding".  I changed some things from the recipe.  The ingredients for my banana cake were:

  • 175 gr butter
  • 175 gr brown sugar and 110 gr (white) sugar
  • 3 mashed bananas,
  • 3 eggs,
  • 200 gr flour
  • 100 gr ground almonds
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ground cinnamon
  • ome nuts and dark chocolate
  • and some milk because I saw the cake dough was too thick

Oven at 170º C for an hour or so.

In the recipe there's some caramel sauce that I didn't make because the cake needn't it at all.

The cake is really big and delicious and the "worst" part is that it tastes even better next day and the day after.

Sunday was the day to bake some oatcakes.  I like this a lot and the best part is that they are very healthy as the ingredients are oats, some seeds, a bit of olive oil, salt and water.  It's being a long time since the last time I had made some and I like to take them to the office in case I get hungry.  I made enough for me and for the rest of the family for this week.

These two cross-stitch I made for a SAL in "Foro las inquietas".  It is the first time I participated in one of their SALs.  I wanted to cross-stitch something related to Christmas and I already knew I wasn't going to have enough time so I only made two of them.  I have already posted some photos related but here they are complete.  Hope you like them.
