No sé si seré capaz o tendré tiempo.  Ya veremos.

On Tuesday I had to buy somethings in Málaga (downtown).  One of the things I wanted to do was visit the yarn shop.  I wanted to look for more colours to combine with the yarns I bought in February.  I found three yarns, they appeared in the first picture.   I am enjoying making granny squares.  I wish I had more time to work on them but I want to do so many things that there's not so much time for everything.  Well I think I am lucky I don't have to finish the granny squares on a particularly date.  Some of the pictures I took so I dont' forget how to combine them for some squares.

I also bought more yarn.  Nice cotton yarn for the summer.  I love the colours.  I just don't know what will come out of this six cotton yarn but I have already playing with them.

The last yarns are the green and light grey ones.  I have already started something with the grey one.  I still don't know if it is going to come out ok, I am always doubting myselft while on a projet.  I would like to finish it this next week.  We will see if I can do it.

I have an idea of what I want to do with the green ones.  They are a very nice light cotton.  I am still looking patterns for what I want to do with them.

These are the breads for this weekend.  As always I baked the first one on Thursday evening but I was with a cold and really tired and I didn't feel like writing in my blog until today. So here they are, a bit late but, here they are.

The recipe for the first one is as always:  200 gr sourdough, 500 gr. flour, 350 gr. water and 10 gr. salt.  I used white flour, white and whole rye flour and Hovis Granary flour.  I don't remember the proportions of each flour as I mixed the ingredients a bit late and I just add a bit o fthis and that.  After leaving the dough in the kitchen counter for a while I put it in the fridge until Thursday afternoon.

First thing I did on Thursday is to leave the dough for a bit on the kitchen counter so the dough is not so cold to shape the loaf.  So after a while and with the help of a bit of flour I shaped the dough and put it in a banneton and left there for an hour and half covered with a cloth.

Oven at 250º C.  First 10 minutes with only the heat coming from the bottom of the oven.  Then 35 minutes more at 220º C for 35 minutes more.

This bread came out really nice and it is quite soft considering the flours I used.  There's not much left of it by now.

On Thursday afternoon I made more dough.  The ingredients were 300 gr. white flour (not strong), 200 gr of a typical flour that can be find here, 10 gr fresh yeast, 300 gr. water, 25 gr of olive oil and 10 gr. salt.  This time I kneaded the dough because it is a very nice dough for that.

I was planning to bake this dough Thursday evening but I saw I was going to have a bit of a problem with the timing in the oven of both breads and I decided to leave this dough in the fridge.  In the end I used this dough on Saturday.  Yesterday I baked the small breads.  Oven at 200º C for about 20 minutes or so.

Most of these small breads went to my family, because they like this type of bread a lot.  I have only one of them for me.  I haven't tried it yet but my family had already told me they are very good.  This type of bread is really nice toasted with a bit of garlic, olive oil and salt.

I did some experiment with this dough on Friday.  I took a bit of it and made it as flat as I could, more or less like a pizza.  Then I put it on a pan without any oil or butter.  The pan must be quite hot.  When the flat bread was almost done I put some cheese and some chorizco.  Well, just delicious.

Nerja (22/04/2012)

Today we went to have lunch to Nerja.  Nerja is a village near Málaga.  The best thing are the views of the sea.  It is beautiful.  We also had a really nice day.  It was a hot day, just like summer.

Amasado. Una hora de reposo.  Desgasicar.  Formado y reposo y horno a 200º durante 20 minutos.

On Saturday I baked more bread.  My father prefers bread made with yeast instead of sourdough but for that I need to bake and take the bread to them in the same day because the bread made with yeast is much better the same day it is baked.

The ingredients are:  500 gr flour (two kinds), 300 gr. water, 25 gr olive oil and 2 teaspoon salt.

This is what I ate this weekend.  On Friday I thought I coul have a pizza.  It is being a long time since I have done and baked pizza, I had all ingredients and decided to bake one.  It was quite nice.

Yesterday, Saturday, I had pancakes for breakfast.  I followed a Jamie Oliver's recipe that I found in one of his books.  One egg, one cup buttermilk (milk in the book), one self-rainsing flour cup, a tbsp of olive oil, and two tbsp of sugar.  I had some blueberries in the fridge I put some in the pancake.  If the pan is hot enough one doesn't need any butter on it.  They did came really good, even the first one that is the one in the picture.  I had it with a syrope or an experiment I did a while ago ( lemon, gratefruit and orange juice, some pectin that I made and sugar).

For lunch I had Cucumber Gazpacho, green salad and some apple and orange.  For the salad I made some blue cheese dressing, with blue cheese, yogurt, olive oil, black pepper and thyme.

Today, Sunday, I went to have lunch with my family so I haven't done anything.

Harinas

This week I went to a village near Malaga called Alhaurin El Grande.  I went there to buy flour in a place called "El Amasadero".  I didn't know there were so many different flours until I started baking my own bread.  This shop sells lots of differents flours and many of them are organic and I can find things for baking and making bread.  This time I bought around 18 kilos of flour.  I bought spelt, rye, corn flour, strong white and wholemeal, flour 00 and some typish flour from Málaga.  I also bought few things more that are the ones in the pictures.

Well, today, as every Thursday,  I baked the loaf for the weekend.  The only major difference this time was that I added to the sourdough whole spelt flour instead of rye flour.

Recently I joined a cross-stitch forum or community called "Bordando Juntos".  It's fun and interesting to be part of it.  They have many things going on and one of the things is that you can join a group and every month there is a graphic you have to do in cross-stitch and finish before the end of that month.  You can join for a month (every month is different) or you can only join for those months graphics you like or can do.  I started with April grafic to see if I was going to be abled to finish it before the end of April, but now that I have seen this graphics are really easy and nice to cross-stitch I already asked to be included in May Tralalá.  Tralalá is the name of the designer of these graphics.
