Nerja: marzo, 2013

This week we went again to Nerja.  It is very near Málaga and a very beautiful place.  The views from the "Parador" are the best.  We were lucky the weather was OK and it didn't rain.  We found this time the strange tree you can see in two of the photos.  We haven't seen it before and it is really unique.

Well, this is what I have been baking this last week.

One sourdough loaf done as always with sourdogh, flour, water, no yeast, seeds and salt.  As always I mixed (no knead) everything in the morning and leave it shaped in the tin until the evening that is when I arrive home and bake it.

The other loaves are the basic milk bread recipe:  500 gr flour (250 gr strong flour), 325 gr milk, 10 gr salt, 10 gr yeast (fresh) and a bit of honey. For last recipe I used the bread machine except the baking part.  I baked them in the oven in two separate tins.  One of the loaves I gave to my family and with the other I did some "torrijas" that are like french toasts more or less.  They are very typical for Easter.

I finally finished some of my knitting projects.  If you remember the projects I posted in January (first picture) I was knitting some scarves.  Well, I finished two of them just before my trip to Switerland:  my rose and orange scarf and the grey one for my sister.  I had already made the same scarves as late Christmas presents for my sister and my father but I wanted one for me and my sister like the one I made for my father a lot and I had more yarn left so she has now another one.  I still have to finish the green scarf.  I have no photo of my sister' scarf but it is almost the same as the one I made for my father.

Every year I like to learn how to knit new things.  This year I made a wool hat using for the first time a circular knitting needle.  It was fun to do.  I even took it to Switerland and I have been knitting a bit almost every night (I am really slow when I knit) until I finished it.  And here it is. It is quite cute on and it is very warm.   I don't know if I will use it this year but nevermind now I have a wool hat made by me.

I like visiting open markets when I travelled.  They are really different from the ones there are where I live.  This is the opern market in Basel.  The red building you see is the Town Hall of Basel and the market is just right in front of it.

Lucerna (Luzern): Marzo 2013

We love Luzern (Switzerland).  We have already visited this city a few times but we like to go there as much as we can because it is a very beautiful city and it is very near where my brother lives.

Suiza: Goldenpass (Marzo, 2013)

Y aquí abajo nuestra parada en Gstaad para comer (Stopping in Gstaad to have lunch)

Y de postre algo dulce (and something sweet for dessert).

(After lunch we took the train again to Montreux).

Lausanne

While we were in Switzerland we took the train a lot.  It is the best way to visit Switzerland.  Since the first time I visited the country I wanted to travel the panoramic Goldenpass train.  This time I finally could do it and we took the train in Spizt and travelled to Montreux.  We stopped in Gstaad to have lunch.  We liked this route a lot, the view of the montains is incredible and Gstaad is this little village with all the exclusive boutique one can think about.  There is no photo of Montreux because it was really foggy and we only had enough time to take our next train.  We did stop in Lausanne on our return journey.  I thought it was a small city but it is really big. I am already planning to visit it next time we go back to Switzerland.
