Suiza: Riggi (Marzo, 2013)

Acabo de llegar de Suiza de pasar unos días en familia.  Mientras hemos estado allí hemos aprovechado para hacer algunas excursiones.  Suiza es un país precioso.  En esta ocasión fuimos a Riggi que es una montaña que hay cerca de Lucerna.  Lo siento no sé mucho más pero como vereis las vistas son espectaculares.  Aquí teneis algunas fotos del paseo en barco desde Lucerna y la subida a Riggi en tren.

I've just arrived from a trip to Switzerland.  I went to visit my brother and his family.  When we go there we always try to visit new places because Switzerland is a very beautiful country.  This time we went to Riggi that is a very high mountain near Luzern.  We went by boat from Luzern and then by train.  The view from Riggi is really something. 

Bolso de crochet sin costuras

Este bolso de crochet se hace prácticamente de principio a fin sin tener que coser nada o juntar ninguna pieza o cambiar de madeja.  Se hace la base y luego se va dando vueltas hasta terminarlo.  Se empieza y se termina con una madeja de 100 gr. Por supuesto si se quiere el asa más larga hace falta un poco más de lana pero así queda muy bien.  Lo único que tengo que decidir ahora es como cierro el bolso sin con botones o con una cremallera o lo dejo tal cual. 

Lástima que no se aprecie bien en la foto el color.  Es como un azul tirando a vaquero.  Es de Katia Fama y son unas madejas que salen bastante económicas-

Best thing about doing this bag was that I started with the bottom of the bag and I kept going around and around so it didn't need any stitches or joining anything.  A ball of 100 gr of Katia Fama, which is quite a cheap yarn, was enough for it.  I still have to decide if I put some buttons or a zip or I leave it like that.  Well see.

Floralies 1

Esta es el primer ramo de flores del SAL Floralies del Club Tralalá Love.  Es la primera vez que utilizo la tela Zweigart de lino.  La labor queda muy bonita en esta tela pero el problema es que me tengo que tomar con calma estas labores porque sino la vista la voy a perder.  A lo mejor ahora que las tardes empiezan a ser más largas tengo algo más de luz para ver por donde tiene que ir la aguja.

This is the first part of the Floralies SAL I am doing with "Club Tralala Love".  It is also the first time I used a Zweigart linen fabric.  The cross-stitch looks very nice in this fabric the only thing is that I cannot work long with it or I will loose my sight. 

Pan para el fin de semana (01/03/2013)

Como siempre aquí está el pan para este fin de semana.  Masa madre recién refrescada, nada de levadura, harina de trigo de fuerza y blanca de centeno, alrededor de un 70% de agua y semillas variadas. 

No es el pan más bonito de mundo pero si el que más nos gusta porque es un pan que tiene mucho sabor y además dura mucho.

This is the tin loaf I baked yesterday evening for this weekend.  It is not the prettiest but is the one we like most.  Done as always with only sourdough, flour (strong wheat and rye) and water.  I also added some seeds.  It is a bread with a lot of flavour and it usually lasts almost a whole week.

"Vampire Interruptus" de Lyndsay Sands es el noveno libro de su serie de vampiros Argeneneau y es un poco la continuación del anterior libro  "Vampires are forever" y que leí el mes pasado.  Como el resto de los libros de esta serie son libros para pasar un buen rato sin complicaciones.

"La Canción de los Maories" de Sarah Lark es un poco la continuación de "El Pais de la Nube Blanca".  En esta ocasión el libro va de las aventuras de dos de las nietas de las protagonistas del primer libro.  A pesar de ser libros "gordos" se leen con mucha facilidad y entretienen mucho.  Me ha gustado y no me cabe duda de que seguiré con el siguiente de Sarah Lark. 

"Grave Peril" es el tercer libro de la serie Harry Dresden de Jim Butcher.  Es un libro con mucha acción, a Harry Dresden el protagonista, le pasa de todo. Me gustan mucho también el resto de los personajes que aparecen en el libro, Michael y su espada, el hada madrina de Harry, Bob...  

"Awakened" de PC Cast es el octavo libro de su serie "House of Night".  Empecé a leer esta serie para adolescentes hace unos años.  Los primeros libros estaban muy bien pero después de leer "Burned" dejé la serie.  No sé si es que estoy un poco mayor para estos libros o qué pero en fín que como hay mucho donde elegír pues eso hice un par de intentos de leer "Awakened" y se quedaron en eso en intentos.  Hace una semana volvi a darle una oportunidad porque creo que han salido un par de libros más desde entonces y bueno por ver si mejoraba algo.  No, para mí no ha mejorado ha empeorado.  La historia bastante aburrida y los personajes un poco pesados también y luego lo peor para mi gusto es que parece que el libro viene patrocinado, que si True Blood, que si Glee, y luego menciona los nombres de otras autoras de libros que justamente no son para adolescentes, vaya los primeros libros de Anita Blake bueno pero a partir del decimo libro no creo que sean libros para niñas de 15 o 16 años.  De todas maneras, lo dicho lo mismo soy yo porque la serie es para adolescentes y yo tengo unos "pocos" de años más.

"Two Graves" es el último libro de Douglas Preston y Lincoln Child.  Tenía muchas ganas de leerlo pero a la vez algo de miedo porque las historias de Pendergast me encantan y el último libro no estuvo muy allá, vamos tanto es así, que no recuerdo muy bien ni de que iba.  Me ha gustado mucho.  Me dan ganas de releer todos los libros de Pendergast de nuevo.  Es un poco como volver a los primeros libros de la serie.  Vaya, que me he quedado con ganas de más, a ver para cuando es el siguiente libro.

My favorite book this month was "Two Graves" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.  It was fantastic to see Pendergast and the rest of the characters again.  Last book was not so good (I cannot remember well what it was about) and I was kind of afraid of this book because this series is one of my favorite.   But I like it, I like it a lot, it reminds me of the first books of Pendergast. 

I like and enjoyed reading "Vampire Interruptus" by Lyndsay Sands, "Grave Peril" by Jim Butcher and "La Canción de los Maories" by Sarah Lark (I am sorry because I don't know if it is translated into English).  They were very nice reads.  It is always fun and nice to read Lyndsay Sands Argeneau.  Lots of action going on in Harry Dresden book by Jim Butcher.  The book by Sarah Lark is the second one I read and it was good to.  This books are quite big but they are really easy to read and I also enjoy reading about New Zealand, it is really interesting.

"Awakened" by PC Cast is the book I didn't like.  I stopped reading this series (House of Night) after "Burned" was published but decided to give it another chance.  No, it didn't get any better for me it got worse.  Probably I am a bit old for the books as they are for teenagers but still... what I didn't like at all was reading inbetween the story things that felt like advertisement, "True Blood" this, "Glee" that and then there is some mention of Anita Blake and other authors that I don't think they are appropriate for teenager.  The language in the book was also a bit too much, I know how teenagers talk but this is, as I say, too much.

Pan para el fin de semana (22/02/2013)

Aquí están mis panes del fin de semana pasado y el que horneé ayer.  Todos con hecho exclusivamente con masa madre y sin pizca de levadura fresca. 

Este primero es el que horneé ayer tarde.  Hice la masa por la mañana a eso de las 6:15, con unos 100 gr de masa madre de centeno sin refrescar desde la semana anterior y recién sacada del frigo para que la fermentación no fuera muy deprisa. Lo dejé fermentando en el molde, en la encimera de la cocina, hasta más o menos las 9 de la noche que fué cuando lo metí en el horno.  La idea era tenerlo listo para hoy y el problema es que los jueves trabajo de 8 de la mañana a 8 de la tarde por lo que tengo muy poco tiempo para hacer pan.  

Eché buttermilk en lugar de agua y esto le da un color muy doradito al pan.

Y la hogaza y el pan de molde blanco son del fin de semana pasado.  Los hice el sábado pasado.  Ambos, como he dicho, sólo llevan masa madre de trigo blanco y ambos llevan en su mayoría harina de trigo blanca.

Para la hogaza refresqué la noche anterior masa madre de trigo blanca pero al 60% de agua, imitando un poco a la masa vieja.



El pan de molde lo hice con buttermilk en lugar de leche.  Si no recuerdo mal creo que la mitad de la harina que usé para este pan era espelta blanca.

These are the loaves I have been baking.  I have made all of them using only with sourdough or leaven (rye sourdough and wheat white leaven), and without any yeast.  First photo is the bread I baked yesterday. Before going to work I mixed all ingredients at around 6:15 a.m.  I left the dough in the tin on the kitchen counter until 9 p.m that was when I baked it. On Thursdays I work from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m and I don't have much time to do anything.  This is for me was a good way of making my bread for the weekend.

The other pictures are the loaves I baked last weekend. Both again done without yeast just with white wheat leaven.  The tin loaf I made with buttermilk instead of milk, and I liked a lot the texture you get with it.

Visita al Castillo de Málaga (Febrero, 2013)

Hace tiempo que tenía muchas ganas de subir al Castillo de Málaga.  El domingo por la mañana me llamó mi hermana y me dijo que ella y mi padre iban a subir al castillo.  Aproveché la oportunidad y me fuí con ellos.  Creo que es la primera vez desde que lo restauraron que he entrado a verlo.  Está muy bonito y desde luego merece la pena visitarlo.  Por supuesto lo mejor son las vistas de Málaga.  Y si hay alguien de Málaga que sepa que enseñando el carnet de identidad la entrada es muy barata. 

Por cierto que ahora que estaba descargando las fotos para publicarlas en el blog me he dado cuenta que tengo que buscar una foto de la vista del castillo desde fuera porque claro todas las que he sacado (que son muchas) son desde dentro.  En fín seguro que tengo alguna por el blog asi que en cuanto tenga un huequito la busco y os la pongo.  Mientras tanto aquí van unas "pocas".

Aprovechando que estábamos al lado fuimos a comer al Parador.  Es un lujo poder comer en la terraza aprovechando que el día no estaba malo del todo y seguir contamplando las vistas desde allí.

I've been wanting to visit the castle in Málaga for sometime.  This last sunday my sister called me and told me she and my father were going to visit the castle.  I didn't think twice and went with them.  It's being a lot of time since I visited it.  It is often the case that you tend to visit everything when you go travelling but one forgets what is near home. 

Best thing about the Castle of Málaga is the view of Málaga, the montains and the sea.  They are the best part of the visit.  Here, are a lot of pictures I took but I forget to post a picture of what the castle looks like from the outside.  I have to look because I know I had a photo (even in this blog) of the castle.  I'll add it when I find it.  Meanwhile you can see the castle and the views from it.  Hope you like it.  Málaga is really worth visiting.

The "Parador" of Málaga (which is a very nice hotel) is very near the castle and we had lunch there.  It was quite nice to eat in the "terraza" and watch the view of Málaga from there.
